Spaceship

“Spaceship Earth” is a wooden installation resembling a space in-between the interstellar and the earthly. Taking the dualities in this year’s festival theme - intervention-naturalness, demolition-construction, and absence-replenishment – the creators proposed a new one: interstellar-earthly. It explores the Space Race's impact on architecture and raises questions about its own purpose - spacecraft, lunar/martian habitat, or capsule house on Earth. Emphasizing teamwork, it urges creative minds to consider outer space exploration as a way to focus on sustainable life on Earth. Understanding our planet's place in the universe is vital for building sustainable, inclusive buildings and cities and preserving life on Earth.
