Our team was asked by the municipality of Köbánya (Budapest, 10th district) to design a revitalization project for Óhegy park that could serve as a community and leisure park for locals and visitors as well. The task was to create a project, which could be an exciting monument in Budapest that’s worth visiting even for tourists. The brief required the park to serve as a place for relaxation and recreation. After thinking about the opportunities, our studio designed a lookout tower concept that functions as a community space, terrace as well. The lookout draws inspiration from the district’s built and natural environment heritage, and important milestones from the history of Kőbánya.
