Krater Festival

Hello Wood Krater Festival brings the Basalt Mine in Zalahaláp to life, where architecture and electronics come together in symbiosis. After its launch in 2023, the event has evolved into a unique all-art ritual for 2024 and 2025, building on the raw power of the mine. The program combines spectacular light painting and monumental wood installations with the best of Hungarian underground electronics. These three years have proven that Krater is a special community experience that goes far beyond an average summer party.

Hello Wood x Katttarzis

The festival is a fusion of Hello Wood’s architectural vision and the underground pulse of the Katttarzis (KATTT) party series. This collaboration has created a community ritual where design-focused thinking and quality entertainment meet. Over the course of three years, they have forged together into a family-friendly, sustainable and lasting value-creating event in the heart of the Balaton Uplands.

The Krater

The venue is the monumental cauldron of the Zalaháp basalt mine, whose “landscape wound” is being healed by art. The natural echo of the basalt columns and the gigantic wooden installations (such as the 18-meter-high central stage) exude a sacred, mystical atmosphere. This post-apocalyptic environment provides the festival with an incomparable visual and acoustic foundation.

Lineup

The musical lineup has been based on the cream of the Hungarian underground and alternative scene since the beginning. In 2023, Sisi a and the 6363 and Wavy collectives brought the hip-hop energies, while in 2024, Analog Balaton’s hypnotic set became the festival’s trademark. By 2025, the palette was further diversified with names such as Дeva, Technokool or Tudósok, creating a perfect balance between electronics and live music.

Program

Krater is more than just a party: it started as the closing chord of Hello Wood’s international builder camps (Builder Summit), where the joy of joint creation meets celebration. During the day, professional workshops, yoga, mine tours and community programs take place, while at night light painting and music take over. The goal is to create a festival where the built environment and the proximity to nature provide real relaxation.
