Cabin Fever 2026

From 20-28 July 2026, architects, students, designers, partners, and local businesses will again come together in Ceská Kamenice, Czech Republic, on the grounds of a former textile factory and wartime labour camp. Come and build insanely cool projects with us, make lifelong friends and become part of the Hello Wood community forever.

How to Apply

Three ways to apply for the summer school:

1 Individually to the builder teams

2 As a team to build the cabins

3 As a team submitting design proposal

Register until Dec 31, 2025 – 23:59 CET

Apply as Teams with Design Proposal

Submit an outstanding, buildable design in one of the four categories, and if
you’re selected, you’ll lead a 10–15-person team through the entire camp.

CATEGORIES

A. CABINS Functional, human-centered, following the VELUX approach
B. BRIDGE AND PATHWAY To connect the cabins on the site
C. WOOD INSTALLATIONS Functional or atmospheric interventions that shape the experience of the site
D. LIGHT INSTALLATIONS A call for creative lighting designers and light artists to design and build permanent lighting
concepts that enhance the atmosphere of the cabins and the site

 

Schedule

Dec 31 – Deadline for early bird registration
Deadline for proposal submission (optional)

Jan 9- Final day for notifying all selected student participants. During the application
period, applications are reviewed continuously, and confirmations are sent after
each portfolio evaluation. Accepted applicants can pay the participation fee any
time after receiving their confirmation.

Jan 16 – Announcement of the winning proposals

Jan 23 -Deadline for transferring the early bird camp participation fee (295EUR/person)
