Think Global, Build Social! - exhibition

Connection between community, sustainability and building - making an exhibition

The exhibition of “Think Global, Build Social!” was created to introduce projects which involve the socially sensitive and solidary architecture, which were fitting to generate real changes when it comes to community building and social sustainability. The focus was on how the link can be enhanced between cultures, continents and civilizations, to create a stronger bond between designing, building and the sociological value of communities and architecture.
In this part, Hello Wood composed the Hungarian section, entitled “Builders”, which aimed to highlight the local characteristics, its similarities and differences by representing 12 national architectural projects.

The Think Global, Build Social! international exhibition of social architecture arrived to Budapest in 2016 organised by Hello Wood and Goethe Institute Budapest. The curator of the international exhibition was Andres Lepik, curator for architecture exhibitions and author of publications, professor and director of TU Munich's architectural history and curatorial practice, fellow at Harvard Graduate School of Design. As a preparation event of the 2016 exhibition in Budapest, Andres Lepik joined us on the 6th of November to give a presentation and to participate in a discussion with Hungarian project leaders of initiatives showcased in the upcoming Hungarian section of the exhibition.
