Pebble - Game pod
As a kid, we all dreamed of having our own cosy shelter or bunker at the end of the garden, our own kingdom. Where we can sit back, relax and play in our own world, a place where we can also invite our friends. Hello Wood’s versatile design product has now made this dream come true for a sibling duo.
One of the latest Pebble pod versions was built in the garden of a private house in Budapest. The Game pod is an 8-square-meter playhouse designed with our client's own idea in mind for his children. While it is a place for shared family play, thanks to the functional versatility of the cabin, the cabin can take on new roles as children grow; In this way, it can be a relaxing corner, a study cabin for the children, and then, after becoming adults, it can be turned into a guest house and study room for parents.
Fitted out with mattress flooring, you can lie down comfortably and play carefree in the Game pod. Thanks to the shape of the cabin, the interior can be used not only while standing or sitting in a chair, but also on the floor, leaning on the outward-facing wall plane (as a backrest) to listen to a fairy tale, play a book or even watch the stars through the skylight. Instead of the built-in bench for the Pebble pod, we designed and built a shelving system with a TV and games. In addition, the cabin is equipped with RGB led lighting, so the lighting and mood of the space can be changed in many ways.
The cabin has a double deck, which forms a well-functioning unit surrounded by beautiful trees in the garden. Irregular hexagonal deck elements with the same floor plan as the cabin were installed offset and displaced relative to each other. The goal was not only to create an exciting spatial game, but also to raise the deck module higher. Also, the thermowood covering the deck and stairs of the Game pod is new, which is a weather-resistant, heat-treated wood.
