MVM Smart Public Furniture - cool & sustainable

Contributing with our design & build to the campaign of MVM (Magyar Villamos Művek Zrt.): in their “Smart School” initiative Hungarian public schools were able to win 1 of the 4 pieces of smart public furniture we have designed and built for the company. City Snake - as we like to call it - is a 7,5-meter-long outdoor smart bench with integrated solar panels that enable students to charge their phones through the built-in USB outlets. Fluid Cube, the 9 m³ cube structure has the same technical attributes, and can serve as a safe place during rain thanks to its roofing.

MVM Competition

After reviewing more than 1200 applications, the jury of MVM decided to give the smart outdoor furniture to the following educational institutions:

Együtt/tér campaign - building community spaces

Telenor had asked communities to apply in a campaign called Együtt/tér to have a community space built for them. Together we chose 3 winners with a very cool and busy social life, and we were very happy to contribute in this work by designing and building the community spaces for them.

The Hegyvidék Sign was installed in front of the Hill Side Business Centre in Budapest in 2018. The dynamic structure describes the topography of the 12th district highlighting two main characteristic and popular locations - the Elisabeth lookout and Normafa - furthermore reflects on the Hill Side Centre. The installation stands on a concrete pedestal, the used material is Siberian larch and CNC-milling technology was applied. The Asahi pop-up bar was designed and built for introduction of the Asahi Super Dry brand onto the Hungarian beer market.

Spiral Tower is our first prize winner concept for the lookout tower Bence-hegy inspired by the commonly known fairy tale Jack and the Beanstalk. The tower is designed as a significant and lovable artwork of its environment using suitable natural elements.

The Pop-up Park 2.0 is a temporary installation built for the public in Városháza Park. Our Pop-up park can be rented in 3 different sizes. Contact us for further details and price inquires via hellowood@hellowood.eu.

The small house is to remind a traditional, cozy little  house where people can have a rest, relax and  enjoy all the benefits of being surrounded with lots  of light and natural materials. This impressive structure is a comfortable venue for lovely bars and restaurants.

The Crystal kiosk can host a wide range of activities from art performances and workshops to retail and gastro events. It has a customizable interior and a front door that functions as a ramp when opened. If needed, the side door makes it possible to merge two separate units into one (for measurements see: table)

Long, slender and less enclosed than some of our other rocking boats, the Galley is designed to carry up to 8 people. Can only be used on flat, grass covered surface, supervised by animator.
