CLT home Nagykovácsi

The project is being designed for an international client with a deep appreciation for natural materials and meaningful spatial connections. Every line of the design is guided by the site’s features, the movement of daylight, and the delicate balance between openness and privacy. The concept draws inspiration from traditional dwelling forms and interprets them through a contemporary architectural lens, creating a home that feels grounded, calm, and connected to its surroundings.

Layout

The building follows a courtyard-style layout, echoing the protective and embracing character of the Kazakh yurt. This arrangement frames a sheltered, intimate courtyard at the heart of the site, offering both openness to nature and a sense of refuge. The CLT structure expresses the warmth and tactility of natural wood, while clear architectural lines and covered terraces define a subtle dialogue between interior and exterior spaces. Light, air, and landscape become integral parts of the architecture, shaping an environment that supports both privacy and togetherness.

Symbol in the interior

At the center of the house lies its true heart — the place of gathering, nourishment, and warmth. Reflecting the client’s cultural background, where fire has always been a defining symbol of home and family, this element becomes the organizing principle of the interior.
Reinterpreted as a modern hearth, the kitchen forms the emotional and functional core of the dwelling. Natural materials, gentle light, and tactile surfaces create a calm yet vibrant atmosphere, where the essence of living together is both felt and celebrated.
